How did you get into the industry?

There were a few ladies at my church that didn’t have work, so I asked around to see if anyone wanted their house cleaned, and we started cleaning houses.

What’s New in the Business or in the Franchise Model?

Due to world events, there are many more germaphobes in the world than there were before, so more people need our services. Also, people are working and studying from home so their houses get much dirtier than before.

Where do you see opportunities or challenges for the franchise moving forward?

I think the demand/need for this service is only going to grow.

What is your goal for the business moving forward?

I’d love to see a number of franchises in the Triangle and Triad areas be built up and do well. After that, I’d like to take over the southeast!

Talk to us about training and support and how you deliver.

At first, my office manager and I will be overseeing the franchises, and we will have some of our lead cleaners training the new cleaners. I will be hands-on and do as much in-person support as possible.

Your most difficult moment at the business?

When someone is really upset about an issue that happened during a cleaning. Most people are reasonable and we can make things right with them, but some people get ugly. I take over these issues personally because I won’t allow anyone to insult or mistreat my staff.

Define your Franchise Model?

A. Training and Support Model? At first, it will be from within. Soon after, I want to hire a full-time district manager to cover everyone.

B. What is the Fee Structure? 6% royalties and 1% marketing

C. Territory Definition? I don’t know yet

D. Day in the life of a Franchisee? same answer as #8

What does your franchisee do in the business every day?

At the beginning, they will need to do everything… make sure the teams get going with their schedules all ready; answer phones and emails from cleaners and customers; get the next day’s schedule ready; do some networking to line up more work…

Who is the ideal franchise candidate?

The person should be energetic and caring. Ideally they should speak Spanish and have a customer service background. They should enjoy variety and be ready for anything.

What Goals Do You Have for the Franchise Model in the Future?

In the first 2 years, I would like to have a district manager who covers around 10 franchises. Once I have 10 franchises going and making money, the sky is the limit.
