How did you get into the pest control industry?

Back when I was merely a customer and not a company owner, a company came out to spray and I had an infant at that time. They started spraying the ground that our child was often crawling on and I stopped them. I knew I could create a company that not only responded to customers in a polite fashion from first phone call to last spray, but that could develop an eco-friendly hybrid approach where we can use conventional products on the exterior, and eco-friendly inside ( which are often based on the same kind of things that are in eyewashes). Customers with sensitive pets like parakeets and other birds are especially grateful for our innovations in pest control. We were officially founded in 2014.

What’s new in the BugPro franchise model or how are you differentiated from your competition?

We’ve been called out to solve termite problems that other companies didn’t fix because they were using outdated methods. We stay current with the state classes, so we’re always aware of the latest industry developments, latest products, and breakthroughs in procedure. Our honesty in our recommendations sets us apart from most other companies out there.

Where do you see opportunities or challenges for the BugPro franchise moving forward?

I want to give this opportunity to other entrepreneurs. There are plenty of people struggling, people who don’t love the 9 to 5. I want to help other hard working people build their own business. They may not know how to do it, but they can follow our process. We can change lives.

What are your unique points of training and support for new BugPro pest control franchise owners?

At BugPro, we want our franchisees to be set up with everything they need from the very beginning. We have hands-on training at our corporate location and then refresher courses each year. Our franchisees will see what it looks like to operate a BugPro, in the office and at homes.

We have ongoing support for the duration of the franchise. We always train on new products or new offerings. We want our franchisees to succeed in this business. When they succeed, we succeed and everybody wins.

Have you had a difficult moment within the franchise expansion?

No. This has been fairly smooth since BugPro has such a valuable offering. We love to get to know each candidate and then bring on the people who fit with our philosophy.

What does your franchisee do in the pest control business every day?

Overseeing the staff, fielding phone calls and leads, setting appointments, providing estimates, etc.  This is a service business, we are ALL about creating a positive experience for customers and any one who comes in contact with BugPro.

Who is the ideal franchise candidate for BugPro?

The ideal candidate would have experience in the pest control field. Sales, marketing, and business ownership backgrounds are also helpful. If someone isn’t experienced in the pest control field, no problem. I didn’t have the experience when I decided to go into the pest control business. My background is in construction. We will teach our franchisees everything they need to know.

What goals do you have for the BugPro franchise marketing system in the future?

My goal is to be the new standard in pest control. Operating with honesty, integrity, and excellence. We want to be where we say we are going to be, when we say we are going to be there. We want to be a convenient, trustworthy option for our clients and keep them coming back again and again.
