How did you get into the industry?

In 1991 I saw an ad that said $100 a day for carpet cleaners.  Been in it ever since and have grown the local business here in Virginia Beach to 7 figures.

What’s New in the Business or in the Franchise Model?

Technology keeps evolving with equipment.  Cost is increasing on supplies and labor, however pricing is also increasing.

Where do you See Opportunities or Challenges for the Franchise/Business Moving Forward?

In the short term, the supply chain is making it more difficult.  This has started to improve.  Labor costs are increasing.  Demand for cleanliness is up and customers are willing to spend the money.

What is your Goal for the Business Moving Forward?

We would like to continue to increase profits while contributing to the local community and helping business owners through franchising.

Talk to us About Training and Support, How Do You Deliver?

Training is so important.  Training technicians to do quality work is a big part of it, however, we have a large focus on proactive direct sales.  The top line cures all and we push sales, sales, sales. We deliver this through on-site training at our headquarter location as well as going to a Franchisee location.

Just getting started on the franchise side so nothing but fun so far.

Define your Franchise Model:

Training and Support Model?
Training classes will be scheduled in accordance with the needs of new franchisees. We anticipate holding training classes three to six times per year. Training will be held at our offices and business location in Virginia Beach, VA. The instructional materials consist of the Brand Standards Manual and other materials, lectures, discussions, and on-the-job demonstrations and practices. Training classes will be led by our owners and/or senior training staff. Owners and Senior staff have varying years of experience in our industry, and up to 28 years of experience with us or our affiliates. There is no fee for up to 2 people to attend training. You must pay the travel and living expenses of people attending training. You must attend training. You may send any additional people to training that you want (up to the maximum described above). You must complete training to our satisfaction at least four weeks before opening your business.

What is the Fee Structure?
When you sign your franchise agreement, you must pay us $30,000 as the initial franchise fee
Royalty – 8% of your gross sales

Territory Definition?
Your franchise agreement will specify a territory, which will have approximately 150,000-250,000 in the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) around the location of the franchised business. The boundaries of your territory will be specified by zip codes, county or city lines, or some other limit.
