How Did You Get Into the Pet Industry?

I started watching pets for my boss and a couple of clients 30 years ago when I was 19 years old and worked as a bank teller. It just grew from there…..

What’s New in the Pet Business or in the Pet Franchise Model?

The industry is hugely different now than it was when I started! Everything is very automated with software apps, online payments, website appointment bookings, customers having alarm systems & cameras in their homes.

Where do you See Opportunities or Challenges for the Franchise/Business Moving Forward?

There are HUGE opportunities in this field! People absolutely love their pets like family and love the opportunity to leave their pets at home. 40% of homes have either a dog or cat and many people have both or multiples!

What is your Goal for the Pawsitively Spoiled Franchise Business Moving Forward?

GROWTH! I’d love to see this franchise model take off and be able to support franchisees in growing their business and helping them learn how to market & connect in their individual markets.

Talk to us About Training and Support for new Pet Franchise Owners, How Do You Deliver?

Very hands on approach….initial training would be to have new franchisees come to our home base and train with my team who have ran my business for years and show them how we go out and run day to day operations. Ongoing training would be constant support and regular in person visits at their location.

Your most difficult moment at the Franchise Business?

When we were in a huge growth phase. We needed to hire more help but, I was so busy doing the day to day operations that I didn’t even have time to interview at alone train someone new……so I just worked a TON of hours!
