How did you get into the industry?

we got into the ice cream world 11 years ago when we decided to buyout a neighborhood ice cream shop less than 2 miles from our home. Our plan was to improve it the quality and customer service and introduce new flavors from around the world to the local population, which was becoming more and more diverse every year. While I was working in the IT field, we did not spend too much time and effort on expanding the business. But now we are 100% committed to expanding the business, as the first step we expanded, remodeled and rebranded our location to reflect what the franchise location will look like. We also expanded the menu to include more items.

What’s New in the Business or in the Franchise Model?

We envision this to be one stop dessert place, where people can get ice cream, crepes, waffles, Boba teas and other treats.  In future, we may want to add some savory versions.

Where do you See Opportunities or Challenges for the Franchise/Business Moving Forward?

Challenges: new specialized ice cream / dessert shops

Opportunities: we provide unique mix to ice cream flavors from all over the globe. Also, with the mix of different type of desserts and drinks combinations which make us destination place for the whole family

What is your Goal for the Business Moving Forward?

Goal for the business is to be a destination place for the whole family, we like to provide different option that can satisfy everyone in the family or the group of friends.

Talk to us About Training and Support, How Do You Deliver?

Initial two weeks training will be at our corporate location in Plano, Texas.  One week training at the location around grand opening.  In addition there will be training manuals provided to the franchisees to help them train their future employees.

  • Franchise fees  $25,000
  • Royalty – 6%
  • Corporate level Marketing  1% 

C. Territory Definition?  We offer exclusive territories and have designed our franchise so that we can provide people with the protection they need and the market size we want for them to be able to grow and scale their business within the Ked’s franchise network.  

D. Day in the life of a Franchisee?  It’s fun, but it’s a lot of work creating a great experience for customers and providing great products to people.  We love what we do and for the experience to be what it can be, the operator needs to love doing this type of work. 

We have great systems in place which help new franchisees with the key items involved in managing a Ked’s Franchise, Managing / training employees, Scheduling, Inventory, Ordering and purchasing supplies.  

Who is the Ideal Franchise Candidate?

Candidate who will be managing the location, but we are looking for people who have passion, love to serve and see the opportunity in the dessert food market segment with what Ked’s has created and offered.  We know we have something special, we hope that our franchisees see the difference and unique qualities of the brand.
