How did you get into the popcorn retail industry?
We had seen a listing for a “Local Popcorn Store” for sale on Craigslist and decided since Popcorn was my 2nd most favorite food behind Ice Cream (Already owned an Ice Cream store) I decided to inquire and the rest is history!
What’s New in the Business or in the Jackson Popcorn Depot Franchise Model?
We added Freeze Dried Candy last year and it has really increased overall sales. We have two freeze dryers and another on its way.
Where do you See Opportunities or Challenges for the Jackson Street Franchise/Business Moving Forward?
Opportunities- Corporate (B2B) sales for employee and customer appreciation gifts
Challenges- Supply chain issues, many candies are backordered.
What is your Goal for the Business Moving Forward?
Grow and spread the fun across the country! We love what we do and people love the experience we deliver in the store and with our products, we really just want to replicate what we’ve done in Michigan in other markets.
Talk to us About Training and Support, How Do You Deliver?
We will conduct corporate site training as well as onsite training, our goal is to work with each and every franchisee to have a fun and profitable store, and we have been in the food industry for over 13 years and have owned businesses our whole lives. We like to be very organized and have proven processes for just about everything. Consistency is the key to success. We are also very responsive to ideas from staff and others, if something can be improved upon we will not hesitate to change!

Territories will usually be specified as a radius around franchise location; however, we may use other boundaries (such as county lines or other political boundaries, streets, geographical features, or trade area).
D. Day in the life of a Franchisee?
Prep store for opening by stocking shelves, cleaning, and reorganizing retail area. Start Movie Theater Popcorn and prepare popcorn for warmers. Open store, start cinnamon nut roaster, Greet and assist customers in their purchases. Train and mentor staff.
