How did you get into the industry?
I have been a Brick-and-Mortar gym owner for 30 years.
I ventured into my AWATFIT FITNESS TRUCK merely for fun. Achieving great success and very large margins, I decided to franchise.
Let’s discuss some challenges that you’ve faced and/or some successes you have encountered.
The biggest challenge was streamlining production to meet our scale. Now that that’s behind us, our second challenge was dialling into a local community as the new concept in town. We continually see great success through grassroots marketing and individuals seeing and taking classes or experiencing our one-on-one training.
Is there anything that you would like to add regarding your training and support model?
We are here for franchisees in every aspect of the business model. We give cookie-cutter classes with descriptions of how to utilize the equipment and programming.
What does your franchisee do in the business every day?
They enjoy themselves by helping others help themselves. Being a trainer is gratifying to work and to be able to do it in many different locations is very rewarding and less taxing on the body.
In your own words, describe the ideal franchisee.
A trainer with business experience who understands the process, ex-military, and/or executives with an athletic mindset are ideal franchisees. It’s great to have a passion for helping others. We also offer a completely passive model. We will run an entire operation for franchisee investors.
What are your goals for your company in the future?
We are comfortably growing into the largest outdoor fitness solution and our goal is to continue until that has been achieved.
